Modernizing and restructuring professional websites for clarity, credibility, and usability.

Your website is the first impression most people will have of your business — and right now, it might be working against you. An outdated layout, confusing navigation, or a site that doesn't look right on a phone can quietly cost you clients every single day without you ever knowing it.

A Web Design Refresh isn't about tearing everything down and starting over. It's about taking what you already have and making it sharper, cleaner, and easier for your visitors to actually do what you want them to do — whether that's booking an appointment, filling out a contact form, or picking up the phone.

Here's what's included and why each piece matters:

Visual Layout Refresh Design trends move fast, and a website that looked great three years ago can feel dated today. I'll update the visual look and feel of your site — fonts, colors, spacing, imagery — so it reflects the level of professionalism your business actually delivers. This isn't about being trendy for the sake of it. It's about making sure your site looks like it belongs to a business that's active, current, and trustworthy. Studies consistently show that visitors form a judgment about your credibility within seconds of landing on your site, and visual design is the single biggest factor in that first impression.

Homepage Restructuring Your homepage is doing the heavy lifting for your entire website. Most visitors won't click past it unless it immediately answers three questions: What do you do? Who is this for? What should I do next? I'll restructure your homepage so it guides visitors through a clear, logical flow — from understanding what you offer, to trusting that you're the right choice, to taking action. This usually means reworking your headline, reorganizing your content sections, making your calls to action more prominent, and removing anything that creates confusion or friction.

Mobile Optimization More than half of all web traffic now comes from phones. If your site doesn't look and function well on a mobile screen, you're losing potential clients before they even scroll. I'll go through every page and make sure text is readable without zooming, buttons are easy to tap, images load properly, forms work smoothly, and nothing looks broken or awkwardly formatted on smaller screens. This includes testing across different devices and screen sizes to make sure the experience is consistent.

Basic On-Page SEO Cleanup SEO — search engine optimization — is what helps people find you on Google. Most small business websites have simple SEO issues that are easy to fix but make a real difference in how visible you are in search results. I'll clean up your page titles, meta descriptions, header tags, image alt text, and URL structures so that search engines can properly understand what your site is about and who it's for. This isn't a full SEO campaign — it's the foundational work that makes sure you're not accidentally invisible to Google.

Navigation Simplification If a visitor can't find what they're looking for within a few seconds, they'll leave. It's that simple. I'll streamline your site's navigation so it's intuitive and easy to use — removing unnecessary pages, consolidating menus, and making sure the most important pages (your services, contact info, booking page) are never more than one or two clicks away. The goal is a site where visitors always know where they are, where to go next, and how to take action.

What you walk away with: A website that looks modern, loads well on any device, makes a strong first impression, and is structured to turn visitors into leads or clients. Most refreshes are completed within 10–14 business days.

Investment: $800–$1,200 depending on the size of your site and the scope of changes needed.

FAQs

What's the difference between a "refresh" and a full website rebuild? A refresh works with what you already have. I'm not scrapping your site and starting from zero — I'm restructuring, redesigning, and optimizing it so it looks modern, works well on mobile, and actually guides visitors toward taking action. Your existing content, images, and domain all carry over. Think of it as a renovation, not a demolition.

How long does a website refresh take? Most refreshes are completed within 10–14 business days, depending on the size of your site and how quickly you can provide feedback during revision rounds. I'll give you a specific timeline during our kickoff call.

Will my website be down during the refresh? No. I do all the work behind the scenes and only push changes live once everything is reviewed and approved. Your current site stays up and running the entire time.

What platform do you work with? I work with most major website platforms including Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, and Shopify. If you're on a different platform, let me know and we can discuss whether it makes sense to refresh in place or migrate.

What does "basic on-page SEO cleanup" include? I'll optimize your page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, and URL formats so search engines can properly understand and index your site. I'll also connect you to Google Search Console and make sure your sitemap is submitted. This is foundational SEO — the essential groundwork that helps you show up on Google. It's not a full SEO campaign, but it's the critical starting point that most small business websites are missing entirely.

Will you write new copy for my site? The refresh includes copywriting tweaks — tightening headlines, clarifying calls to action, improving flow. If your site needs a full copy rewrite (new messaging from scratch), we can discuss adding that to the scope or I can recommend a copywriter to collaborate with.

What if I hate the new design? You won't be surprised by it. I share progress at multiple checkpoints throughout the project, and you'll have revision rounds built into the process. If something doesn't feel right, we adjust it before anything goes live. My goal is a result you're genuinely proud to share.

Do you provide training on how to update my site after? Yes. Every refresh includes a walkthrough — either live on Zoom or recorded via Loom — showing you how to make basic updates like changing text, adding images, or updating your hours. You'll also get a short written guide you can reference anytime.

What if my site is really old or really broken? If your current site is beyond the point of a refresh — think outdated technology, a platform that's no longer supported, or a structure that would take more effort to fix than to rebuild — I'll be upfront about that during our discovery call and recommend the Digital Infrastructure Package instead. I'm not going to charge you to polish something that needs to be replaced.

I don't have a website yet. Can you still help? This service is specifically for improving existing websites. If you need a site built from scratch, check out the Digital Infrastructure Package — it includes a full website build along with branding, content strategy, and analytics.
